What's the story?

From the twittering of tropical birds to the hawking calls of the fishmonger, Sri Lanka treats the ears to a catalogue of distinctive sounds. But one melody resonates more than all the others: the calling song of the choon paan.

Deep in the jungle or high in the Hill Country, the bread van sings its jolly jingle up and down the island. And the sound of Für Elise floating on the humid air means one thing: there’s fresh bread to be found in the back of trishaw.

Sitting atop Sigiriya Rock? Relaxing by the lake at Lunuganga? Wherever you’re listening, those wailing strains will fill the air soon enough, promising Ludvig’s loaves and Beethoven’s baguettes – provided you can find the three-wheeled source of that familiar refrain.

Our unisex tees fit true to standard European sizing.

Fabric spec

100% overstock cotton. Made in limited batches using surplus fabric from Sri Lanka's garment industry. Screen-printed by hand.

Our cotton weight ranges from 130-155gsm, so it sits well without making you sweat. Like a trusty sarong, our tees are comfortable, soft to touch and offer just the right amount of stretch.

Delivery & pick-up

Our tees are dispatched from the south coast of Sri Lanka. In the area? Get in touch to arrange a collection between Ahangama & Galle.

Alternatively, we’re happy to deliver far and wide, both within Sri Lanka and overseas. We ship our tees by registered post in bidodegradeable envelopes. Island time can affect postage schedules, so the numbers below are our best estimates.
