We're saving the leftovers.
Discard 8% of your dhal curry and auntie will be after you. Yet for every batch of fabric made in a factory, that’s exactly how much might be set aside as excess. This extra material isn’t damaged. It’s as new and usable as the rest of the roll, but simply surplus to the buyer’s requirements. And if the factory can’t find another taker, it could be incinerated or sent to landfill. Sin, men.
That’s why we manufacture our tees using overstock cotton. We source surplus rolls from Sri Lanka’s sizeable garment industry and transform them into top-notch tees. We buy in batches based on what’s at the warehouse – which means we can’t guarantee we’ll ever get the same blend again.
And because the best lessons begin at home, we also save every scrap, morsel and sliver of fabric from our own production process. We’re working on ways to turn these offcuts into recycled yarn, as well as transforming larger pieces into packaging materials and other products.

We're making things, right.
Underpaid labour? That’s just not cricket. We believe in fair play and fair pay for everyone in our supply chain – especially the seamstresses who stitch our tees. Finding a transparent facility required time, patience and several site visits. But after putting more calls than a Bentota businessman, we now partner with a local workshop inland of Kabalana. From working conditions to wages, this podi production team shares our ethical ethos. They’re super at saving fabric scraps, happy to have us visit and generous with their king coconuts. In return, we pay over the market rate to ensure everyone gets an equitable deal.

We strive for shape shipping.
Like rice and curry wrapped in banana leaves, our tees ship in biodegradable packaging. Our mailing bags are made from 100% recycled material that will break down in an industrial composter, while our cane fibre mailing labels are completely compostable. Our invoices and business cards are printed on recycled paper, while our roll wraps get an added special ingredient: fibre from elephant dung. And because plastic pollution has no place in paradise, we simply don’t use it. Still drinking king coconuts through an old-school straw? That sucks.

We've got responsibilitees.
Sustainable and stylish our tees might be, but the best things come in threes: we also want our tees to make a difference. We take our responsibilitees seriously, which is why we donate 10% of the profits from selected designs to charities doing amazing work in Sri Lanka – whether uplifting women or saving street dogs. And we’re always looking for further organisations to support. Because we want to spread positivitee through communitee.
It's tee time.
